Regine - Ogie’s wedding plans irk reporters

Entertainment reporters have grown tired and irked at the usual “I can’t talk about it” answer of Ogie Alcasid everytime he is asked about his planned wedding with Regine Velasquez.

They sounded like teenagers, says one reporter. It’s as if their wedding is a matter of national security that Ogie can not talk about it, says another.

Well, maybe Ogie is not in the liberty of talking about marriage with Regine Velasquez because his marriage with Michelle Van Eimeren has not been annulled.

Oo nga naman. Let Ogie work on the annulment first before he talks about marrying Regine. But gosh, di pa ba obvious on screen ang sweetness ng dalawa?

Is money the real cause of Pops-Jomari breakup?

Jomari Yllana needs to air his side on the issue that he owes Pops Fernandez more than P1 million and that money was the mean reason why the two broke up.

Sources said Jomari owes Pops P500,000 which he used to pay up for the expenses incurred during the Missing You concert of Pops and Martin Nievera, which he co-produced. Sources also revealed that Jomari has not paid the talent fee of Pops yet which would amount to nearly a million bucks.

Jomari should speak up and clear his side on the issue.

GMA, Solar win rights to air Manny Pacquiao - Ricky Hatton fight

Top Rank boss Bob Arum said Manny Pacquiao has finally realized that he has to follow the contract he signed up with Solar Sports and GMA 7 for the rights to air his fights.

Pacquiao earlier said his fight with Hatton will be aired on ABS-CBN as he has already cut off his links with GMA and Solar Sports. “Manny has realized that he has to do what is right,” said Arum.

“You can’t sell what has already been sold,” said the Top Rank boss.

MMK may have been remiss on one thing

ABS-CBN Corporate Communications Head Bong Osorio issued the following official statement regarding the controversial “Blusa” issue involving “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”

“Storytelling in ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ (MMK) is always based on narratives sent to the program by people who want to share their stories. MMK decides to go into production of the chosen stories, ONLY after the letter sender has signed a waiver attesting to the authenticity of the story sent.

“MMK recognizes that a number of UPLB alumni are questioning the truthfulness of one letter sender who claims that her sister, the main character in ‘Blusa’ essayed by Ms. Angel Locsin, was indeed a UPLB BS AgriBusiness, summa cum laude graduate, who could not find a job and ended up as a stripper.

“When MMK found out about the adverse reactions, the MMK production group went back to the letter sender to inform her of the issue raised and to re-verify her account. She reiterated that she stands by her story.

“Be that as it may, and after careful deliberation, MMK realizes that its writing and research pool may have been remiss in one thing--verifying with UPLB the veracity of the indicated facts of the letter sender. Having said that, MMK sincerely apologizes for the oversight.

“MMK always aims for truth and excellence. This incident may have deviated from its tight norm, but rest assured that MMK will continue to serve its publics with utmost care and respect.”

Despite this statement, I stand by my point that MMK has been faithful to the letter sender’s story.

Third John Lloyd/Sarah starrer not coming soon..

Star Cinema’s Malou Santos announced during the “You Changed My Life” victory party there will be a third sequel of the box-office tandem of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo. This got many John Lloyd and Sarah tandem groupies excited. “You Changed My Life” has raked in P215 million to date, making it the highest grossing Filipino movie of all time, displacing “Tanging Ina Ninyong Lahat.” But a booker’s report put the gross at only P160 million plus for the two weeks of screening. It continues to attract moviegoers and is still filling up the theaters.

But this third sequel is not coming soon.

When then? Director Cathy Garcia-Molina answers, “Di ko alam. Baka matatagalan pa.” When clarified if it will be Star Cinema’s next Feb.’s offering, she answers, “Not even siguro. Actually depende na sa stars.” Marketing-wise, it’s not advisable to release it too soon.

Cathy’s the type of director who requires full concentration when working on a project. She will pilot an afternoon series for several weeks like she did in “Lobo.” Then she’s moving to the Aga Muhlach and Angel Locsin movie project.

Breaking buzz: From Totoong Showbiz: “Sarah Geronimo ikinahihiya ng AMA University na ini-endorso niya. Imbiyerna and pamunuan ng school kay Sarah dahil ipinagyayabang na sa UP siya nag-aaaral. Bumababa na ang nag-e-enrol sa AMA.”

No way Vic will beat Kris

Kris Aquino exchanged her open-shouldered evening wear for a shocking fuchsia pink terno with stylized panuelo for the opening night episode of the new television game show “Pinoy Bingo Night” scheduled on Monday, March 30. The bingo-based game show replaces “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” which Kris also hosted.

Blurbed as the country’s biggest game show ever, 200 studio players paying P50 per game play using high-tech electronic bingo boards. Home viewers can also participate. It topples the record of Edu Manzano’s weekly game show “One vs. 100” as having the highest number of participating studio audience.

Everybody wins in “Pinoy Bingo Night,” anything from guaranteed instant cash prizes to a whooping P1 million major prize. Two games are scheduled per night.

For sure, TV5’s forthcoming “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” to be hosted by Vic Sotto fails in comparison.

Breaking buzz: ABS-CBN changes maturing shows in April. The television remake of the 1978 blockbuster movie “Kambal sa Uma” will replace “Pieta” while “Only You” with Angel Locsin playing Jillian will take over from “I Love Betty La Fea.”

Why Tony Boy can't marry Gretchen?

Trying her best not to breakdown, Gretchen Barretto did not answer two questions in “The Buzz’s” “Tough 10 Questions” that indirectly referred to long-time live-in partner Tony Boy Cojuangco. The clincher question was “Naitanong na ba sa iyo ni groom-to-be na ‘Will you marry me?’”

Why can’t Tony Boy marry Gretchen? Two reasons: One, Tony Boy’s legal wife with whom he is separated for a long time does not want to sign the documents of their annulment papers; and two, because Tony Boy’s mother, Imelda Cojuangco, does not like Gretchen to be her son’s wife.”

Gretchen knows she’ll remain Tony Boy’s mistress even if they have one daughter, Dominique.

Breaking buzz: Tony Boy met beauty queen Janina San Miguel and her manager Manny Valera in his yacht about a possible show in TV5. If indeed this meeting took place, it can’t be about a project with TV5 as Tony Boy is hands off in its management. Most likely, this is a manufactured buzz.
